Subscriptions, invoices, and the free pilot
What's free, what schools pay for, how invoicing works, and what happens in September. The two-minute version for you and your finance office.
Right now: everything is free
Coding Pathway is in its pilot year. Every school has full access, the entire teacher layer included, free until 31 August 2026. No card details, no trial countdown.
From September 2026
Schools subscribe to an annual tier based on student numbers, from £250/year for up to 120 students to £1,275/year for up to 2,000 (excl. VAT, full details on the pricing page). Every teacher in your school is included on any tier. Students always keep free access to the core Python pathway.
Subscribe before September and your first year runs to 31 August 2027. You lock in next year and lose nothing of the free pilot.
Paying the way schools actually pay
From Subscription & billing in your dashboard, a school owner can:
- Pay by invoice / purchase order. Enter your PO reference, we email the invoice to your finance contact, and your school keeps full access during the 30-day payment window.
- Pay by card. Access confirmed within minutes.
You can name a finance contact who is not a platform user. Bursars and business managers do not need accounts to receive the paperwork.
Mid-year changes
Outgrow your tier and you can upgrade any time, paying only the difference. Subscriptions run one year from payment with no automatic renewal. Nothing rolls over silently.
Trusts, groups, and questions
Part of a MAT or school group? There is a single-agreement arrangement covering all your schools. And for anything at all, from a pricing question to a full demonstration for your department or SLT, get in touch. You will be dealing directly with the teacher who built the platform, not a sales team.
